Plan Your Vacation ~ Jefferson County

If you’re planning a Colorado vacation, you’ll want to include Jefferson County (a large part of which is located in the Denver metro area) as one of your destinations.

Some of the top tourist attractions in the state of Colorado are located in Jefferson County, including great outdoor activities, such as visiting Red Rocks Park, Dinosaur Ridge, Golden Gate Canyon State Park and Chatfield State Park (and reservoir).

If you’re interested in history, you’ll want to make Buffalo Bill’s grave, Lakewood’s Heritage Center, and the Colorado Railroad Museum part of your next Colorado vacation.

If culture is more your style, there’s the Arvada Center and the Lakewood Cultural Center.

For thrills, Bandimere Speedway and Heritage Square (which includes an amusement park and alpine slide) are great additions to any vacation.

For kids, there’s no place more enjoyable to visit than Tiny Town, where every child can feel like a big person in a town that’s built to 1/6 scale. For grown-ups (and kids, too), the Coors Brewery tours, complete with free samples for adults, are always a hit

And no vacation would be complete without shopping, which can be found at Colorado Mills outlet stores, Belmar Shopping District, Southwest Plaza, and along the main streets of Arvada, Morrison, Evergreen, and Golden.

If you live in the Denver metro area, all of the attractions in Jefferson County make for great things to do on a staycation and/or great tourist activities for out-of-town visitors.
